Job Purpose
Responsible for leading fitness classes, organizing the class and choreography, and maintaining a fit and enjoyable class for guests.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote a safe and fun environment for class participants
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper group fitness components (warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc.)
- Knowledge of a variety of group fitness classes
- Knowledgeable in techniques and dynamics of group fitness
- Provide excellent customer service to class participants and guests
- Work to promote the fitness opportunities at facility with public
- Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately
- Communicate professionally verbally and in writing
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff
- Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Fitness Director on time
- Responsible for safety of facility, equipment, and participants
- Attend staff meetings
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have current Group Fitness related certification
- Must have a current American Red Cross CPR / AED certification or equivalent
Working Conditions
Work is completed at a recreational facility, on and around personal fitness equipment. Work may need to be indoors and outdoors.
Standard office equipment that include, computers and software packages, fax and copy machines, telephones, cash registers. Standard exercise equipment includes weights, dumbbells, body bars, steps, fitness balls, and other equipment associated with use in a recreational exercise facility.
Physical Requirements
May require long periods of standing or sitting and may require a lot of walking. Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to lead fitness classes
