- Work as a team member in the Product Engineering department that provides technical support to over 65 precast concrete manufacturing plants across the US.
- Design engineered concrete products, including precast concrete structures, concrete pipe, manholes, and other concrete items according to specifications.
- Prepare fabrication drawings and structural calculations, product estimating, and shop drawing creation and review.
- Work closely with contractors, government agency representatives, general manager, sales team, and operations manager.
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
- Lead or contribute to the development of new concrete products, considering performance, cost, and market requirements.
- Create and review product designs, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing and analysis of concrete mixes to assess and improve product performance and durability.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for concrete products.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in concrete production to enhance efficiency and product consistency.
- Work with raw material suppliers to evaluate and select materials suitable for concrete manufacturing.
- Assist in cost analysis and value engineering to optimize product performance while managing production costs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, testing results, and design changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and sales, to address product-related challenges and opportunities.
- Ensure that concrete products comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes.
- Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management and customers.
- Education/Experience: B.S. in Civil Engineering;
- P.E. or ability to obtain P.E. within a few years of hire date is a plus.
- Prior experience with precast concrete structures, state DOT projects, or water/wastewater treatment projects is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in construction or precast industry
- Prior experience in PPVC projects will be an added advantage
- Proficient in interpreting all production-related drawings
- Knowledge of building construction, application of precast and prefabricated building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
