ROLE
Responsible to create and execute residential R&R strategy and programs among regional plumbers and Contractors in the specified regional area to expand Rinnai’s profitable market share. Coordinate with the territory managers, District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to ensure team is effectively maximizing opportunities to achieve corporate objectives.
The Team Lead position is responsible and accountable for assisting the Production Manager in achieving production requirements for work groups or product line work cells by focusing on service, quality, and agility through scheduling and coordinating work flow, supporting employee training, providing employee guidance and motivation, following through of delegated work, and providing input on employee performance and other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs production for manufacturing jobs to provide on time delivery for customers. Monitors reports to ensure production dates are being met. Monitors WIP volumes for acceptable levels. Coordinates transfers and breaks for work area staff.
- Continuously audits work centers for adherence to documentation.
- Assists in identifying and escalating opportunities for scrap reduction. Reviews completed work orders for accuracy.
- Performs daily departmental tasks when not performing Lead/ Supervisor/Shift Trainer responsibilities.
- Provides recognition to employees. Assists to ensure employee development training/cross training is provided with documentation for effective performance. Assists to proactively address issues with employees; settling disputes and conflicts among team members where appropriate. Adheres to Company policies and procedures. Provides input to Manager with employee performance and corrective actions. Assists with coordinating effective delegation of work assignments and training. Assists with conducting shift meetings.
- Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality. Adheres to standards and implements use of continual improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continual improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
- Assists in investigating and evaluating quality defects as assigned and in determining appropriate actions to be taken. Assists with recommending and implementing solutions to improve quality of products. Assists in writing document changes and manufacturing/part/work instructions.
- Promotes direct action to ensure safety of employees and visitors within company. Monitors work area and employees’ performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness and potential hazards. Submits reports and observations.
- Monitor time card entries for accuracies which includes break adherence, attendance and PTO approvals when needed.
KNOWLEDGE
- 2 Year technical degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years Manufacturing experience required
- Previous experience in Lean manufacturing methodology
- Previous leadership experience
SKILLS
- Mechanically inclined
- Qualitied first mindset
- Strong computer/keyboard skills
- Strong public speaking, communication and ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization
