What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Director position at Rio Concho Terrace?
The activity director is hired by the facility manager and is responsible for the resident's day to day planned activities.
Must be able to speak, read, and write English. High school diploma or GED with some advanced training in the area of activity planning. Must have good oral and written communication skills, basic computer and bookkeeping skills. Must be able to plan and carry our well organized activities in relation to the needs, abilities and desires of the residents. Must obtain a Commercial Drivers License, Class B or better.
Responsible for planning, scheduling and overseeing all activities and special events for the facility which you are assigned, coordinating schedules with other facilities as necessary, including securing necessary transportation for activities throughout the city and for all out of town trips. Provide a balanced program of activities for your facility in relation to the needs, abilities and desires of the residents of that facility. Schedule and secure all equipment, personnel, volunteers, entertainment and activity space and purchase all supplies and materials necessary to execute each planned event. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Responsible for overseeing the Activity Fund petty cash, delegating those funds for the purchase of bingo prizes, refreshments, decorations, etc. Must keep proper records which are made available for review by management. Other duties as assigned.
