What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller (Albuquerque, NM) position at Rio Grande Credit Union?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller to join Rio Grande Credit Union!
Located in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico, you will join a fantastic leadership team and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will establish and maintain the fiscal record-keeping system by utilizing GAAP, adhering to tax laws, and ensuring regulatory compliance that properly reflects the Credit Union's financial position.
The Controller will work and lead a team of experienced individuals and promptly oversee the preparation of financial reporting. The position is responsible for reviewing monthly expenses to ensure proper General Ledger and Budget classification. This position is a financial strategist who will guide the division's appropriate direction and design processes to ensure deadlines are met based on internal and external regulatory entities deemed appropriate.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance or a specialized course of study, five to seven years of experience as an accountant/controller within a financial institution, and a minimum of five years managing a team are required. Exceptional analytical knowledge of software applications and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management are essential in this position.
