What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Assignment Reporter position at Rio Grande SUN?
The Rio Grande SUN, a small, weekly newspaper is looking for a general assignment reporter to cover a variety of topics that our readers want to know about.
We are nestled in the mountains of Northern New Mexico about 35 minutes north of Santa Fe. This is an in-person position, so the right candidate will already live in Northern New Mexico or be willing to relocate.
We cover everything from city council and county commission meetings to school board meetings and community events.
We are looking for a self-starter who can make contacts in the community and knows how to submit IPRA requests.
Photography skills are desired.
The ability to juggle multiple projects and priortize important assignments is necessary. Must be able to meet weekly deadlines, take direction, have a keen eye for detail, provide accurate reporting and work well under deadline pressure.
Must have a clean driving record and transportation.
Salary range is $30,000 to $35,000
