WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Housekeeping Supervisor contributes to the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department by actively supporting a diverse workforce. Promotes cleanliness and teamwork to maintain room quality standards, all while strictly adhering to Rio-Las Vegas policies and procedures.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for adhering to both hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
- Promptly reports any maintenance issues and follows through on resolution effectively.
- Enforces all OSHA and safety protocols diligently.
- Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas within the tower, maintaining hotel standards.
- Keep a close watch on supplies and amenity levels in designated areas.
- Initiates necessary actions, whether positive or corrective, to maintain consistent standards.
- Collaborates closely with Status Board Operators to convey accurate room status information to the front office staff.
- Demonstrates sound judgment in decisions related to employee and guest safety, along with exhibiting professional customer service skills.
- Possesses familiarity with guestroom cleaning techniques, including industrial carpet and floor care, as well as basic guestroom cleaning procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position supervises hourly team members in the Housekeeping Department
REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Work requires attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work requires interactions with customers, the public and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.
- Ability to safely operate motorized equipment.
- Attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work.
- The physical ability to tolerate any required personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, safety goggles, and other protective equipment deemed appropriate on a continuous basis.
- Ability to safely operate shampoo machine, wet/dry vacuum, buffers, and power tools to insure proper training of subordinates.
- Mathematical skills necessary to analyze reports, prepare forecasts, and budgets.
- Knowledge of housekeeping operations, including appropriate staffing levels, service equipment and guest relations.
- Work requires use of a computer and/or cash register.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- The physical ability to stand and/or walk continuously for duration of shift.
- The physical ability to climb stairs, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel continuously.
- The physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping.
- The physical ability to push, pull, and lift various furniture items such as mattresses, end tables, chairs, ottomans, lamps, and tables.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
