Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front office operations. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience, from scheduling appointments to handling medical billing and maintaining patient records.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for their appointments.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner.
- Process payments and assist with medical billing tasks.
- Maintain organized patient records and ensure accuracy in health information management.
- Assist with coding for insurance claims as needed.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Skills
- Experience working in a clinic or medical office environment, preferably within a dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical billing processes and coding practices.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage various administrative duties efficiently.
