The Assistant Director of Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the surgical services department. This includes supervising personnel, managing schedules, ordering supplies and equipment, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of surgical services. The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all personnel within the department
- Oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care
- Monitor and manage scheduling of surgical services
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulations
- Coordinate ordering and inventory management of supplies and equipment
- Foster a collaborative environment between surgical staff and other hospital departments
- Provide leadership and support to ensure the department meets performance goals
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management) preferred
- Current RN licensure in SC or a valid RN compact License, certification, or registration to practice as required by state law.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Operating room (OR)/surgical services
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse
- Strong ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
