Overview
A faith-based summer camp dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged youth is looking for a caring and skilled Seasonal Camp Nurse (RN/LPN). This critical position ensures the health and safety of both campers and staff while reinforcing the camp’s commitment to a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment. The nurse will be responsible for medical care, health screenings, and overall wellness support, allowing children who may have limited healthcare access to enjoy a safe and fulfilling summer adventure.

- Deliver essential healthcare services to campers and staff, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Maintain detailed medical records, including insurance forms and treatment logs
- Conduct pre-camp health screenings and evaluate medical history upon camper check-in
- Set up and oversee regular clinic hours for non-emergency medical needs
- Communicate with parents regarding camper health updates when necessary
- Promote proper hygiene and safety practices throughout the camp
- Train staff on recognizing and handling common health issues and first-aid situations
- Distribute and monitor first-aid kits for off-site excursions and hiking trips
- Ensure the medical station is well-stocked and ready for any emergencies
- Take part in occasional camp events, such as evening gatherings and fireside discussions
- Prepare a season-end health report with recommendations for future camps
Schedule & Team Support
- Varied schedule with day, evening, and occasional overnight shifts
- Work in coordination with an on-site EMT to maintain 24-hour medical coverage
- Typically Monday–Friday schedule, with 3-4 additional weekend shifts throughout the summer
Qualifications
- Must hold an active RN or LPN license in Washington State
- Certified in CPR and First Aid
- Ability to make independent medical decisions and act quickly in emergencies
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience working in a pediatric, school, or camp setting preferred
- Prior experience in a summer camp or outdoor healthcare role
- Passion for working with children and creating a positive camp experience
- Strong team player with the ability to educate and support staff on health-related matters
- Friendly, approachable personality with excellent interpersonal skills
