JOB SUMMARY
We seek a Concrete Estimator to help expand our commercial concrete company throughout the DFW metroplex. You will be estimating Commercial projects and communicating with Commercial General Contractors to procure contracts that range in size from $10,000 up to $5,000,000 in concrete work. You will help build lasting relationships with Commercial General Contractors to ensure future project synergy for years to come.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all aspects of procuring concrete contracts from estimating to sales.
- Play an integral role in growing the pipeline of commercial work for the company.
- Research and qualify potential bidding opportunities for commercial.
- Identify scope items completely and accurately, including a risk narrative.
- Develop a project schedule based on crew makeup/equipment and formwork choices/job costing analysis.
- Review project plans and specifications to interpret and determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Utilize Stack software to conduct takeoffs and quantify project components based on plans and specs.
- Work with the sales and estimating team to build the project estimate and proposal for submittal.
- Assist in the preparation of a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to general contractors.
- Participate in project handoff meetings with manager and field supervisors.
- Build and maintain great relationships with Commercial General Contractors.
- Project sizes generally range from $10,000 to $5,000,000 in residential and commercial concrete scope.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Previous experience in concrete estimating is preferred, but other trade estimating experience may be substituted.
- Must have proficient knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Strong negotiation skills.

- Deadline and detail oriented.
- A positive attitude and an ability to work well under pressure and with others on the team.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.

- Pay is negotiable depending on experience.
