Description
RIOS is an international design collective. We are actively in pursuit of wonder within the design of the built environment. We believe design is an act of optimism through which invention and ideas change the world. We practice interconnected design across architecture, placemaking, and landscape architecture to define design as a continuum.
We follow a process that begins with attunement, where program and context shape strong conceptual thinking to establish a holistically informed big idea through which we develop form, confirm function, and define experience as the basis on which to explore ecology, material, and tectonic expression. We are known for our bold solutions that are inclusive of the wider context and are ever mindful that an interdisciplinary approach to design brings about inclusive, resilient, and original solutions that ensure diversity and resilience.
RIOS is seeking students interested in a design career for summer 2025 internships. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in design courses at a community college, university, or trade school and are interested in continuing to develop their design skills for a career in architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, or experience design. We seek highly motivated individuals who are passionate about design and would enjoy participating in our lively office culture.
How RIOS Will Provide Support
- Access to learning resources and materials including workstation, and all needed software training
- Invitations to site visits and tours
- One-on-one mentor meetings with professionals in their fields
- A special curriculum developed to provide exposure to all phases of a project and hands-on fabrication methods

This is a full-time program running from June 3, 2025 through August 8, 2025. You must be available for the entire duration of the program.
This is a paid internship at a rate of $23 per hour. Positions in architecture and landscape architecture are available.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Be enrolled or intending to enroll at a design program at a community college or vocational school in the Fall or Spring of 2025
- Passion for creativity and proven commitment to furthering their education
- A high degree of self-motivation, able to take initiative and go above and beyond tasks given
- Ability to work and coordinate with a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
