As our Day Shift Facility Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable environment for employees and guests. You are directly responsible for managing agents on day shift and ensuring that they have appropriate knowledge and tools through training and mentoring. You are also responsible for providing protection for the Rose Quarter Campus, employees, and property through patrolling and active monitoring of alarm systems, CCTV, and access control systems.
SCHEDULE: Full-time security agents work 4 (10-hour) shifts a week, hours for these roles are Day Shift (6 AM - 4 PM)
DAY-TO-DAY:
- Training, coaching, and leading Facility Security team members to ensure high performance and safety standards.
- Conducting regular check-ins and performance evaluations to provide feedback and ensure continuous development.
- Supporting the hiring, onboarding, and training processes for new Security Agents to ensure effective integration.
- Coordinating with the Portland Police Bureau and Portland Fire Bureau incident response
- Managing incidents, including detaining and/or apprehending persons who violate local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensuring the operation and maintenance of security and Live Safe systems to safeguard personnel and property.
- Monitoring and auditing the 24/7 QR patrol system to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Regularly monitoring, logging, and tracking the status of security equipment, including keys, radios, cameras, and electronic devices (i.e. phones and tablets).
- Ensuring accurate completion of Workers' Compensation (801) packets and assisting with reasonable suspicion of employee incidents
- Identifying and reporting safety issues and vital maintenance or repairs
- Managing the setup, breakdown, and daily maintenance of Magnetometers and Evolv systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Patrolling assigned facilities on foot or other security vehicles
- Documenting incidents accurately and thoroughly to ensure proper reporting and follow-up.
- Responding to and escalating emergency situations in a timely and effective manner.
- Providing information and assistance to guests on campus. Supporting Security Agents as a critical issue resource
- Overseeing lost & found operations to ensure proper handling and documentation of items.
- Managing shipping and receiving operations to ensure the secure handling of goods.
- Fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that values and respects all individuals.
- Completing and distributing daily logs for the shift.
- Reviewing, approving, maintaining, and submitting payroll records for direct reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Developing, coordinating, and overseeing shift schedules to ensure proper coverage and operational efficiency.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Security leadership team to support the safe and efficient execution of daily and emergency operations.
WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:
- Are certified with the current Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, DPSST.
- Are able to work Day Shift hours (6 AM – 4 PM)
- Have supervision experience in a security setting, preferred.
- Able to patrol the campus regularly and respond to incidents as needed.
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on mentorship and team support.
- Can assess and address the needs of the team in a timely and effective manner.
- Communicate effectively with the Security leadership team regarding safety conditions, team needs, and escalation of issues.
- Thrive in high-stress and fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism in public interactions.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including payroll management and scheduling for security teams.
