Position Description
The Asphalt Striper is responsible for the accurate and precise application of traffic markings and pavement striping on newly paved or existing asphalt surfaces. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that roads, parking lots, and other paved areas meet safety and regulatory standards. The Asphalt Striper will work closely with the Asphalt Division team to complete projects on time and within quality standards.
Work with striping crew to layout and install pavement markings on roadways, parking lots, airports, etc.
Perform and complete all work in compliance with DOT and quality guidelines, while maximizing production.
Drive company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
Load and unload trucks daily.
Operate asphalt striping equipment to install pavement markings, including line stripers and other related machinery.
Apply traffic markings, lines, symbols, and other pavement markings in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Set up work zones and ensure proper safety measures are followed to protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
Work closely with project managers and supervisors to ensure work is completed to specifications and on schedule.
Inspect work areas before and after striping to ensure accurate and high-quality results.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on striping equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Communicate with team members to report issues, challenges, or delays and provide solutions.
Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each project.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in asphalt striping, pavement marking, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of asphalt striping equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
Physical strength and endurance, with the ability to work long hours, including overtime and weekends.
Reliable personal transportation.
Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Ability to handle the physical labor required, including lifting heavy items and working in varying weather
conditions.
A valid drivers license and a clean driving record are preferred.
