RIPA & Associates is rapidly expanding. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment primarily experienced in loader operator for earthwork and/or road crew with additional skills including, but not limited to, dump truck, loader, track hoe, backhoe, tamper, water truck and bulldozer. Effectively operating the equipment assigned to them. They load, unload, identify and distribute building materials to designated locations, according to project plans and other specifications. Loader Operators work as part of a team with other skilled workers, jointly carrying out assigned construction tasks. At times they may work alone; this will require them to read and interpret instructions, plans and specifications with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Box Blade Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate box blade equipment to perform grading and leveling tasks on construction sites. This includes operating the controls, adjusting the blade height, and ensuring accurate blade angles for precise grading.
  • Grading and Leveling: Utilize your expertise to achieve the desired grades and slopes as per project specifications. Perform precise grading to ensure proper drainage and surface smoothness.
  • Heavy Lifting: Assist in lifting and positioning heavy materials, equipment, and supplies as required for the construction project. Adhere to proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines to prevent injuries.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the box blade equipment, including checking fluid levels, inspecting blades, and reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Foreman. Ensure that the equipment is kept clean and in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols on the job site. Identify potential safety hazards and promptly report them to the Foreman. Take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of yourself and others working in the area.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Foreman and other team members to coordinate grading operations. Communicate effectively to ensure project goals are met efficiently and accurately.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating box blade equipment in the field of civil construction. Demonstrated expertise in precise grading and leveling techniques.
  • Box Blade Operator Skills: Proficient in operating box blade equipment, including understanding of blade controls, blade adjustments, and blade angles. Ability to achieve accurate grades and slopes as per project requirements.
  • Heavy Lifting: Capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials, equipment, and supplies as required for the construction project. Familiarity with proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Weekend Availability: Must be available to work on weekends as per project demands and scheduling requirements.
  • Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commute to various job sites.
  • Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines. Ability to identify and report potential safety hazards.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting, and operate heavy machinery for extended periods. Must be physically fit and capable of working in various weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, taking direction from the Foreman and collaborating with other crew members.
