Job Overview: Heavy Equipment Operators clean and prepare construction sites, remove trees, debris, tend pumps, along with safely and effectively operating the equipment assigned to them. They load, unload, identify and distribute building materials to designated locations, according to project plans and other specifications. Heavy Equipment Operators work as part of a team with other skilled workers, jointly carrying out assigned construction tasks. At times they may work alone; this will require them to read and interpret instructions, plans and specifications with little or no supervision.

- Arrive at job site and all office meetings on time.
- Perform all job tasks with integrity, along with treating clients and co-workers with respect.
- Have an ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance in regards to all safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, company operating procedures, etc.
- Have the ability to work well in group problem solving situations.
- Respond promptly to requests for service and assistance.
- Follow all Ripa policies and procedures along with, completing assigned tasked correct and on time. If completion of an assignment cannot be met on time notify crew foreman immediately.
- Perform routine daily maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs skilled duties in operating various pieces of heavy equipment within capacity to operate as workload dictates
- Applies knowledge of traffic rules and regulations pertaining to the use of the heavy equipment; of the care and safe operation of a wide variety of heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
- Performs tasks within minimum supervision; understands and follows oral and written instructions; performs physical labor/manual tasks when required
- Ensure all job responsibilities are covered in the event of a scheduled absence.
- Promptly provide crew foreman with all necessary paper work such as, time sheets, safety reports, time off requests, ect.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions to crew foreman immediately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
