Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Utility Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in underground utilities and possess strong problem-solving skills. This role requires the ability to read and interpret plans while ensuring compliance with current utility specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze underground utility plans and specifications.
- Stay up to date with current utility regulations, specifications, and best practices.
- Identify and resolve utility-related issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of utility work.
- Negotiate pricing and other terms and conditions of purchase as needed.
- Oversee the delivery, staging, and inventory of underground utility materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain positive professional relationships with co-workers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Maintain applicable logs and tracking files.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely and precise entry of purchase orders, invoices, and other relevant information
- Communicate with field teams to address issues related to missing materials, over shipments, and other essential items required for project completion
- Generate and analyze reports to reconcile the project budget with actual expenditures for completed purchases
- Troubleshoot missing or back-ordered materials, working with vendors and field teams to find solutions and keep projects moving
- Initiate jobsite cleanups. Returning or reallocating excess material as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with municipalities or utility providers.
- Experience with Planswift, Bluebeam, or other programs used for Utility take offs.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
- 3 years of underground utility related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to understand utility parts and how they work together.
- Knowledge and experience with County specifications on Utilities.
