What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Floater position at Ripley Do Das Learning Center?
Job Description:
Summary of Job: The Floater assists in classrooms when other teachers are out. They will follow schedules and lesson plans to ensure that the classroom is running smoothly.
Other key Relationships: As a Floating teacher you will interact and develop
relationship with staff, parents and children.
Essential Job Functions: Activities may include and/or are not limited to the following.
Assist staff, as needed in the classroom
Assist with daily classroom activities and routines
Participate in lunch and playground duty to enforce rules outside the classroom
Support lead teachers with development and implementation of curriculum and
lesson planning while they are out
Guide students and aid with individual needs using behavior management
techniques
Protect safety and health of children by closely following classroom rules and
procedures
Supervise children by continually remaining within sight and sound
Set up food, snacks, assist children and cleans up after snacks
Maintains confidentiality
Maintains a safe and healthy environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging activities for diverse age groups.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred, but not required).

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
