Job Summary/Essential Functions: Oversees the entire Retail Sales and Operations tasks within a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Attraction. It has the primary purpose of staffing, training, scheduling, supporting and evaluating staff. Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive pay plan to increase sales revenue for the retail shop. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven organizational capabilities. Though prior experience is preferred, training will be provided that is industry/brand specific. Hours will vary and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This position reports to the Corporate Retail Management Team and General Manager of a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Attraction.
Overview
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Set, communicate and maintain proper standards of customer service, courtesy, cleanliness, and floor merchandising.
Assure that all sales associates are properly trained to fulfill their job responsibilities.
Confirm that all personnel scheduling is sufficient to meet the needs of the business.
Work with other managers and supervisors to have gift shop associates cross-trained in non-technical areas to allow more scheduling flexibility.
Meet or exceed the financial plan for the gift shop.
Purchase all supplies for the gift shop.
Maintain sufficient and proper retail displays to meet the needs of our guests.
Work sales floor regularly to help maintain customer service and merchandising standards.
Cooperate with Operations team to maintain a safe environment for our associates and guest.
Will be required to perform operations and cover operations schedule, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel in order to stock shelves and move merchandise on the sales floor.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred qualifications:
3-5 years’ experience in retail management, preferably in gift shop/specialty sales.
strong retail merchandising and operations experience.
Computer literacy.
Exceptional organizational skills, detailed oriented and able to see “big picture”.
Good communicator and team player.
