At Rippe Associates, we’re looking for an Associate Principal in our Education Market Segment to join our nationally renowned foodservice design consulting firm. With 40 years of experience designing innovative kitchens, coffee shops, and serving areas, we collaborate with architects, owners, and operators to bring bold ideas to life. As part of our team, you’ll help craft functional, operator-focused spaces that shape the future of foodservice.
The Associate Principal first learns our business by working with Principals on projects. The initial learning includes facility and equipment assessments, equipment selection and specifications, project fee proposals, contracts and billing review, coordinating client meetings to present and discuss project documents. The Associate Principal begins to manage and eventually lead projects independently and become more involved in sales and marketing activities, along with development into leadership responsibilities within Rippe. Leadership can include management of up to 3 individuals within the market studio and participation in Steering Committee and Strategic Planning for the company.
The Education Studio works on projects in Higher Education, K-12, Corrections, and a variety of other markets.
Other important qualifications are:
- Knowledge about foodservice operations and equipment
- Experience in communicating with C-Suite level employees
- Presentation skills both virtual and face to face
- 4-year degree in related field
- 10 years’ experience in related fields
- Interest in design
- Attentive to detail
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Adaptability, critical thinking, problem solving, and resourcefulness
- Proficient in MS products Power point, Xcel, and Word
- Ability to learn new technology programs (Bluebeam and Revit)
- People Management Experience is a plus
Food Service Design Associate Principal Salary starting Range: $85,000 - $105,000, based on experience.
Rippe is a hybrid environment currently at 20% in office and 80% remote work. The current hybrid includes commitment to be in the office the first Monday of each month for Staff & Segment Team Meetings, and Tuesdays the remainder of the month. Onboarding will also require heavy in person training, shadowing & mentoring for the first 3-6 months.
This position will include travel for client meetings, conferences and trade shows, and educational events around the country, as client or business dictates.
