Key Responsibilities
- Behavioral Guidance: Collaborate closely with teachers to provide in-the-moment behavioral coaching to students from Pre-K to 12th grade, fostering an encouraging and structured classroom environment.
- Data Analysis & Progress Tracking: Collect and organize student progress notes and behavior data to inform support strategies tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Collaboration & Training: Work with instructional staff to develop effective classroom management techniques and create learning materials aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Classroom & Playground Engagement: Monitor students' interactions, promote positive behavior, and contribute to a safe and inclusive environment during classroom and playground activities.
Additional Duties
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and enhance skills.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive student information.
- Support the school community by taking on other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in special education, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children on the autism spectrum or with developmental delays.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of behavior management and motivational techniques for supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to collaborate with educators and adapt to various classroom settings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, teachers, and staff.
- Certifications: Valid CPR/First Aid certification, passing score on the High School Basic Skills Proficiency Test, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, health screening, and TB clearance.
