The Retail Support Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing the daily tasks of a team within the retail environment. This role ensures that tasks are completed efficiently, organizes and manages specific projects within the department, and supports individuals with disabilities in their employment development.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision & Leadership
§ Supervise and oversee the daily activities of assigned employees and vocational participants.
§ Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with company policies and procedures.
§ Provide guidance, coaching, and training to retail staff and individuals with disabilities.
§ Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and job satisfaction.
§ Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations within the retail store.
§ Assist in conflict resolution and address concerns among employees and customers.
Retail Operations
§ Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment.
§ Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and priced according to store policies.
§ Assist in receiving, sorting, and processing donated items.
§ Support store operations, including cashiering, inventory control, and loss prevention.
§ Maintain compliance with safety and security procedures.
Training & Development
§ Train new employees and vocational participants on store policies, procedures, and customer service expectations.
§ Provide hands-on coaching to develop vocational skills for individuals with disabilities.
§ Support employees in their career growth and skill-building within the retail environment.
Customer & Community Relations
§ Exemplify the mission and values of RISE Community Services.
§ Foster positive relationships with customers, donors, and community partners.
§ Ensure excellent customer service and address any customer concerns or complaints.
Administrative & Reporting
§ Communicate effectively with the Vocational Employment Manager regarding store needs, employee performance, and operational challenges.
§ Maintain records of attendance, training, and performance evaluations as needed.
§ Ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations.
Safety & Compliance
§ Promote and enforce a safe work environment by following company policies and safety protocols.
§ Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Vocational Employment Manager.
All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.
- Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
SKILLS
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office and attend meetings within the facility, as well as travel to offsite meetings, events, and community engagement activities. This may include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- Travel: The role may require travel to other locations within a designated area. Access to reliable transportation is often necessary.
