Job Responsibilities:
- The primary role is prevention of abuse/neglect for the individuals we support by training and empowering team members. Always maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Another primary role is to ensure internal support visit are occurring as well as billing audits.
- This position requires multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, and effective communication.
- When assigned it is your responsibility to complete thorough investigations and to always maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provides supervision of QI/Compliance Coordinators with Director.
- Generates assigned thorough investigative reports- upload final reports to varying databases timely and ensure CAP sections are uploaded, minutes, and documents including statement and documentary evidence.
- Complete satisfaction surveys on annual basis and during internal support visits.
- Participate in the quarterly OPWDD and MH occurrence meetings.
- Maintains all fields within the IRMA, NIRMS and WISR data bases. Starts investigation and completes investigations thoroughly, including preliminary and final reports timely.
- Types up reports and ensures thorough investigations and safeguards are implemented at the onset of the investigation.
- Foster’s and maintains professional contact(s) with OPWDD, OMH, JC liaison, Law Enforcement, etc.
- Provides support and at times onsite trainings on prevention abuse/neglect, incident reporting HIPPA, and Corporate Compliance.
- 24/7 on call availability for the immediate triage and investigation of deaths, serious reportable incidents, allegations of abuse/neglect. You are expected to be available to respond to calls within a reasonable short timeframe (no more than 20 minutes) and be ready to report to location if deployment is required.
- Maintains an agency phone for on call and off hours triage needs.
- Participates in monthly Quality Assurance task force meetings and Compliance Alliance Meetings.
- Chairs the Human Rights Committee meetings.
- This position will also require some cross training on internal support visits and compliance matters.
- This position requires flexing hours based on the needs of the department. Working evenings and at times weekends must be able to be flexible.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Improvement/CCO.
- Conduct regular internal support audits of clinical records, care plans and program operations.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure documentation is accurate, timely and compliant.
- Ensure adherence to OPWDD, OMH, DOH, and HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee the agency internal and external audit processes.
- Support leadership in creating a proactive risk prevention strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in QA, Compliance, or Risk Management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong knowledge of OPWDD, OMH, DOH and Compliance and HIPAA regulations.
- Experience conducting audits and developing corrective action plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- OPWDD and MH trained investigator.
- Must have familiarization with IRMA, NIRMS, WISR SLMS, - and OPWDD, OMH, DOH, & ICF regulations
