What are the responsibilities and job description for the LMSW/LCSW Psychotherapist position at Rise & Mind Psychotherapy?
Company Description
Rise & Mind Psychotherapy is a New York-based practice committed to high-quality, accessible, anti-capitalist, and trauma-informed mental health care. We believe that healing is not just an individual process, but a deeply relational and systemic one. Mental health is shaped by everything from the smallest neurochemical shifts to the largest cultural forces—family dynamics, societal expectations, and the systems that govern our daily lives.
At Rise & Mind, we stand in opposition to the “rise and grind” mentality that equates worth with productivity. Instead, we create a space where rest, reflection, and connection are at the core of well-being. Our work focuses on fostering agency, liberation, and meaningful relationships, helping individuals untangle the complexities of their lives while embracing the full spectrum of who they are.
Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about understanding how we’ve been shaped and giving ourselves permission to grow in the direction of joy, peace, and authentic connection.
Role Description
We are seeking a part-time virtual Psychotherapist, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role and work with clients in person. This role is ideal for clinicians looking to expand their therapeutic toolkit while practicing in alignment with social justice values.
The ideal candidate is passionate about reimagining mental health care outside of extractive, one-size-fits-all models. You will provide individual and relationship counseling, supporting clients navigating trauma, relational challenges, identity exploration, and systemic harm. There are also opportunities to engage in group work, community-based offerings, and psychedelic-assisted therapy (for those with relevant training or interest).
Starting session rate is $40-$50. Email resume and cover letter to Courtney@riseandmindnyc.com.
