Summary
The Mission Advancement Manager is responsible for leading and managing key aspects of fundraising, grant management, donor engagement, and stakeholder relations. This role plays a critical part in advancing Rise Recovery’s mission by overseeing development operations, cultivating meaningful donor relationships, managing grant processes, and supporting the CEO in stakeholder engagement efforts. With a focus on strategic planning and organizational efficiency, the Mission Advancement Manager ensures the effective execution of initiatives that drive the organization’s growth and impact.
Responsibilities
Development Operations
- Oversee all aspects of development data management, including accurate donor record-keeping, timely data entry, and reporting.
- Manage the creation and distribution of donor acknowledgment letters, year-end tax receipts, and other stewardship communications.
- Build and maintain a robust individual donor pipeline to support annual fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with the marketing and development teams to craft compelling appeals and donor communications.
- Supervise event planning processes, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.
- Work closely with internal and external teams to deliver impactful events that engage donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Grant Management
- Lead the management of the organization’s grant pipeline, ensuring timely submission of proposals and reports.
- Supervise the grant writer to ensure high-quality submissions aligned with funder priorities.
- Conduct research to identify new grant opportunities and provide relevant insights to support proposal development.
- Monitor grant deadlines and reporting requirements to maintain compliance with funder expectations.
Stakeholder and Board Engagement
- Partner with the CEO to enhance donor and stakeholder engagement initiatives, including personalized outreach strategies.
- Oversee the planning and execution of tours for donors and stakeholders.
- Manage community volunteer program to include interviews, onboarding, and follow-up in collaboration with HR and volunteer activity leads; act as the volunteers’ liaison to assess satisfaction, needs and overall volunteer experience
- Develop presentations, briefing materials, and other resources to support the CEO in stakeholder meetings.
- Manage logistics for board meetings and committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, material distribution, and follow-up action items.
- Serve as a key liaison between CEO and board members to ensure accurate delivery of requested board reports, required board forms and up-to-date accounting of committee members, board member terms and board commitments.
- Represent the organization in advocacy efforts as needed to advance mission-related initiatives.
- Contribute to special projects or campaigns that require cross-departmental collaboration.
Knowledge and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Proven track record in managing grants (from prospecting through reporting) and cultivating donor relationships.
- Must have a valid Texas driver license, a minimum of six (6) years of driving experience, and a clean driving record.
- Applicants must be twenty-three (23) years of age or older to comply with Rise Recovery’s insurance requirements.
- Must maintain automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of Rise Recovery’s auto insurance carrier if personal vehicle is driven during company business.
- Commit to ethical responsibilities, including maintaining confidentiality, establishing appropriate boundaries, and avoiding dual relationships with individuals served.
Preferred
- Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship strategies, and grant management processes.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written communication skills for crafting proposals, donor correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Adept at relationship-building with donors, stakeholders, board members, and community partners.
- Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce or similar CRM systems) as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
