ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations and Director of Youth Employment Programs, the Associate Director of Education Programming for the RiseBoro Youth Center is responsible for working in collaboration with the staff to ensure the overall effective and innovative implementation of the Education Division’s adult education and youth workforce portfolio of programs. Additionally, the Associate Director will provide support in strategic planning, program development, oversight, budget development, and execution. As a member of the division’s leadership team, the Associate Director will serve as a strategic partner in planning and implementing the vision for the division. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide direct supervision and support to the Adult Education and Youth Employment Program Directors and Coordinator; ensure effective program development and implementation
- Along with the Directors and Coordinators, responsible to ensure specific contractual requirements are adhered to and programmatic outcomes are achieved
- Support Program Coordinators and Directors in the daily operations of their programs; troubleshoot challenges as they arise
- Monitor programs to optimize the operation of daily program activities and operations; assess and evaluate program quality through classroom visits and discussions with staff and students; provide constructive criticism, feedback and encouragement
- Assist Coordinators and Directors in the development of programmatic needs assessment and monitor the implementation of strategies to address needs
- Define, measure, and evaluate program performance data; create continuous improvement based on performance data; prepare reports for tracking, monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Build collaboration between key stakeholders and organizational partners to support the provision of services
- Support the Adult Education and Workforce Case Manager(s) with the development of a comprehensive referral list and referral process
- Assist in program-related event planning and arrange for guest speakers to enhance programmatic offerings/activities Assist with outreach to target populations and liaise with appropriate community and government agencies regarding services
- Collaborate with the Development Department to write and submit grant proposals as well as engage in fundraising opportunities
- Direct and initiate efforts to expand Adult Education and Workforce programs for emerging populations
- Assist in preparation of annual program budgets and budget modifications; monitor quarterly progress with budget utilization
- Attend all necessary DYCD, NYSED, and any other required training or meetings
- Support the SYEP Directors in creating and organizing a meaningful end-of-program showcase highlighting participants’ projects and achievements.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, VP and the Director of Youth Employment Programs
Adult Education
- Lead collaboration efforts with instructional staff around curriculum development, implementation, and overall program evaluation; develop and supervise classes and projects
- Oversee and support case management functions of the Adult Education Counselors, Case Managers, and Career and Educational Counselors with the college application process and form linkages with colleges
- Provide direct classroom instruction to students as needed and planned
- Review quarterly RiseBoro Board of Director reports prepared by Adult Education Program Director/Coordinators
Workforce Programs
- Support Director of Youth Employment Programs and Program Director with SYEP participant arrival and dismissal process
- Support the SYEP Education Coordinators with the development and implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum
- Along with Education Coordinators, provide coaching sessions to the Project Facilitators.
- Support the SYEP Directors in creating and organizing a meaningful end-of-program showcase highlighting participants’ projects and achievements.
- Assist Workforce Job Developer with the development of internship opportunities that align with participant career interests
- Supervise the financial literacy components of the Workforce programs; support the Case Manager and SYEP Education Coordinator with securing financial institution guest speakers to provide workshops to youth
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of Adult Education Program Coordinators and Directors as well as Workforce and Adult Education Counselors, Instructors, and Case Managers; manage and delegate responsibilities to allow for efficient programming
- Support the recruitment and hiring of newly qualified staff as needed; ensure staff are oriented to respective roles within the program structure and the program is appropriately staffed at all times
- Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmatic offerings; model as an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated coach; implement planning sessions with staff to enhance programs, services, and staff skill sets
- Take full responsibility for the performance management of the teams to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in accordance with RB policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff; orient new hires to their respective roles and responsibilities within the program structure
- Supervise and coordinate all program activities of assigned staff
- Communicate on a daily basis with all staff to ensure all deadlines are being met, all issues are being addressed, and follow-up is properly documented; convene regular staff meetings
- Prepare/review timesheets on a bi-weekly basis and submit them to the payroll department for processing
- Ensure proper staff coverage for scheduled and unscheduled time off
- Other related tasks or duties as deemed necessary by the VP, the Director of Youth Employment Programs and Director of Operations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working with adult education, the community, and/or workforce training programs required
- A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience required

Salary : $76,000 - $82,000
