Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary or hourly rate offer will be based on the candidate's experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be considered.
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, Monday- Thursday 9am - 6pm and remote on Fridays 9am - 12pm
- If there is a partnership that requests parenting classes for 7 weeks, 6pm - 7pm on Thursdays, team members may be asked to adjust schedules to 10am - 7pm on Thursdays for those 7 weeks

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
The Prevention Network Parent Awareness Educator will work collaboratively with families, education staff, and community partners across Network Members to ensure that the programming meets the needs of the whole child and supports parents / guardians in addressing family needs and setting and achieving family goals. They will lead the development and implementation of parent education opportunities leveraging internal resources and external community partners. Additionally, the Parent Awareness Educator will obtain, expand, and continuously improve the Prevention Network's knowledge-sharing and training abilities related to children, including Early Intervention, Special Education, and career and college readiness systems. Specific duties and responsibilities include :
Provide informational resources, training, and one-to-one support in-person and virtually via webinars and / or conference calls for parents, youth, and other professionalsFacilitate collaborative partnerships with local, regional, and state nonprofits, for-profit and government entities, and their representatives for system changeIdentify needed topics and sites in collaboration with local groups / agenciesAssist with disseminating marketing materials with the Prevention Network Coordinator & Community Change Organizer i.e., share emails, hand-deliver flyers, post on social media, etc.Assure sign-in of attendees and evaluations are disseminated and recordedAbility to facilitate identified curricula and provide education to identified groups and / or individualsPrepare and submit workshop summaries as neededTrain network members and facilitate youth, parent, and family-focused evidence-based interventionsProvide support and assistance so parents, caregivers, youth, and family members can effectively learn, grow, and develop skills to advocate for their educational needsAttend and / or coordinate resource fairs with local partnersCreate training materials as requestedMaintain knowledge and ongoing learning of the priority topics for Prevention Network parents with an emphasis on substance use prevention and related laws, rules, policies, and regulations to continuously improve knowledge in this role and to support families, their children, and youthEffectively utilize technology daily to perform all job duties and OASAS' data management toolProvide outreach to include families from underserved populationsBuild professional community collaborative partnerships by attending, being involved, and / or assisting with local area meetings, conferences, and / or committees i.e., (PTA) Parent Teacher Association, etc.Assist with social media, e-newsletter articles, flyers, and attendance of partner events to share information about the Prevention Network throughout New York CitySupport continuous improvement with RiseBoro's Clinical Team policies and practices i.e., Confidentiality, HIPPA compliance, Communication / Resource Fairs, Personnel Handbook, etc.Coordinate with social prevention providers and social service agencies on the strategic development, implementation, and / or support of family support and parent leadership in the Prevention Network's primary prevention programming initiatives based on local needs and previously developed and implemented initiatives of the organizationDevelop network connections and concerted interventions as part of parental and family engagement; explore and recommend best practices and appropriate evidence-based approaches to parent roles in transforming systems, focusing on primary prevention in Brooklyn, and recognizing families as equal partners in improving children's development, learning, and wellness across all settingsCollaborate and participate in learning opportunities with the Prevention Network facilitators to ensure that those with lived experiences are valued for their expertise and contributions and are fully prepared to participate actively; participate in local, state, and national meetings when appropriate; build skills to assist with sustaining lived experience engagement at the local, state, and national levels; understand, embrace, and model principles and practices of diversity, equity, and inclusionOther related duties as assigned by the DirectorREQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS :
