What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Counselor, P.O.W.E.R. Program position at RiseWell Community Services?
RiseWell Community Services is seeking a two Full-Time Outreach Counselor who will report to the Program Supervisor at POWER Program (Peer Outreach with Evening Recreation Program)
Schedule: Tues, Thurs, Fri 9-5; Weds 12:30-7:30 and Saturday 9-4.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Individual must have personal experience with a mental health condition. Clean valid N.Y. State driver’s license. Peer Certification preferred. Fingerprinting, criminal record check and all necessary clearances from the Justice Center.
JOB FUNCTION:
Provide information and assistance and referrals to people who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless and have a mental health condition and/or co-occurring disorder. Provide outreach, referrals, peer support and advocacy to individuals in need. Conduct street outreach and work in the food pantry. Assist in developing activities and preparation of nutritious meals for the Wednesday Evening Social.
