Position Overview :
The Material Handler 2 position is responsible for managing and coordinating the flow of materials within the work center. This critical role supports manufacturing and supply chain operations, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes. The Material Handler will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of production orders, manage inventory levels, and help improve production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Material Coordination : Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments to ensure timely completion of production orders.
Production Scheduling : Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet demand changes, prioritizing urgent orders when necessary.
Collaboration : Work with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule production activities.
Inventory Management : Track and manage inventory to ensure materials and supplies are available when needed, minimizing production delays.
Communication : Keep relevant stakeholders, including management, sales teams, and customers, informed about production status, delays, and issues.
Bottleneck Identification : Identify bottlenecks or potential delays in the production process and work towards solutions to improve efficiency and meet deadlines.
Safety & Compliance : Conduct regular inspections of production areas to ensure safety regulations and quality standards are being met.
Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate production records, including work orders, production reports, and inventory logs.
Process Improvement : Evaluate and improve production processes to maximize productivity and minimize waste, using continuous improvement methodologies.
Requirements :
Education : Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Experience :
Experience in planning and / or scheduling in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding and application of continuous improvement concepts.
Skills :
Ability to foster positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Nice-to-Haves :
Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and production planning software.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in data analysis and problem-solving.
Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime to meet production deadlines.
