Job Description
We are looking for a Salesforce Data Governance Lead to establish and enforce data management policies, security, and compliance within the Salesforce ecosystem. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, quality, and security while supporting business intelligence and reporting needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, manage metadata, and drive data governance strategies.
Required Skills:
- Salesforce Data Governance & Security – 3-5 years of hands-on experience
- Data Quality & Management – Strong expertise in validation rules, duplicate management, and metadata management
- Salesforce Security & Compliance – Experience with Profiles, Permission Sets, Sharing Rules, Salesforce Shield
- Data Architecture & Integration – Knowledge of MDM, ETL tools (Mulesoft, Informatica), and API integrations
- Regulatory Compliance – Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA
- Salesforce Reporting & Analytics – Familiarity with Reports, Dashboards, and Tableau CRM (Einstein Analytics)
- Stakeholder Management – Strong communication and collaboration skills
Job Duties:
1. Data Governance Strategy & Policy Development
- Catalog, monitor and identify business critical data assets and sources within the Salesforce ecosystem
- Establish governance processes and policies for governance
- Create data standards, including business rules and determine what data should be shared
- Ensure Supplier team’s compliance with all applicable laws and policies (as communicated to Supplier by client).
- Track data quality, including profiling and managing risk.
- Lead cultural change in the way the data is used and governed in the business.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Create data classification frameworks for securing sensitive data.
2. Data Quality & Integrity Management
- Implement data quality metrics, validation rules, and de-duplication processes.
- Define and enforce naming conventions, standard fields, and data structures.
- Develop data monitoring dashboards to track data completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct periodic data audits and clean-up initiatives.
3. Security & Access Control
- Make recommendations to client's IT regarding definition and management data access policies, roles, and permissions in Salesforce.
- Ensure adherence to Salesforce Shield, Field-Level Encryption, and Platform Encryption.
- Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and sharing rules.
- Monitor and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
4. Data Lifecycle & Integration Management
- Develop data retention, archival, and deletion policies.
- Ensure seamless integration of Salesforce with external data sources while maintaining governance standards.
- Work with IT teams on Master Data Management (MDM) strategies.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
- Collaborate with Salesforce Admins, Developers, and Business Analysts to align governance policies.
- Conduct training sessions on data governance best practices for end users.
- Act as a liaison between IT, compliance, and business teams to ensure data consistency.
6. Reporting, Analytics, & Compliance
- Ensure data is optimized for Salesforce Reports, Dashboards, and Einstein Analytics.
- Support business intelligence initiatives by ensuring high-quality and well-structured data.
- Maintain compliance documentation and support audit processes.
