What We Need:
We are seeking reliable, responsible, and energetic Day Camp Counselors to provide a fun, safe, and fulfilling experience for each camper. Each camp counselor will be assigned a small group of campers to lead throughout the week’s program. This role will be responsible for assisting campers as needed to engage and participate in campus activities and lead by example by participating in all games, activities, and songs. This applicant must be available for the entire camp season, be 18 years old, and at least 1-year removed from high school.

Weekly camp Schedule: Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities:
· Assist campers to acclimate to the campsite and assist them as needed to engage and participate in campus activities.
· Model Christ to participants and fellow staff in words and actions.
· Leading by example by participating in all games, activities, and songs.
· Be enthusiastic and attentive to participants.
· Assist other counselors in camper oversight, in transporting campers to activities; in providing breaks for counselors during the day; and anything else as assigned by the Camp Supervisor.
· Take appropriate and prudent action in emergency situations.
· Being ready and willing to lay it all on the line daily by serving, leading, teaching, and building into the lives of each of your campers.
· To serve, lead, teach, and influence the lives of all participants
· Make sure that all camp activities are safe and fun.
· Serving with excellence in all they do.
Qualifications and Certifications
· CPR and First aid certifications.
Training/Certification can be provided by Rising Light Ridge.
· Excellent communications skills to convey campus procedures to all visitors.
· Leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their week.
· Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers under your care.
· Ability to empathize with campers.
· Must be available for the entire camp season.
· Must be 18 years old and at least 1-year removed from high school.
· Typical work schedule runs from Monday - Friday.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to lift and carry 40-50 lb. Ability to push, pull, twist, and turn in a safe manner. Ability to stand for at least 4 hours, walk and run on uneven terrain, and assist participants as needed.
