Essential Job Functions:
Directly solicit and book group business for hotel, F&B, golf and casino operation.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts in the hospitality industry, including
organizations, meeting planners, group leaders and tour operators.
Manage the day-to-day operation of the sales department staff, to include but not
limited to, scheduling, payroll, hiring, recognition, and performance reviews.
Responsible for budgeting, operational review and forecasting of group business.
Timely reporting to management regarding all facets of group operations.
Communicate directly with guests; follow through with special requests, provide
instructions, address concerns; investigate and resolve customer issues.
Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure the ability to
influence, guide and drive the sales process.
Participate in planning and scheduling of marketing events, golfing tournaments,
banquets, and related venues with Marketing, Golf, F&B and other staff.
Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and
Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to
gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant
to company Self-Reporting Policy.
Other Job Functions:
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Greet groups.
Modify duty hours to enhance sales opportunities, participation in trade shows,
conventions, meetings and local functions.
Travel as necessary to attend related events such as meetings, tradeshows and group
business solicitations.
Job Qualifications:
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years experience in Hotel Sales/Marketing and
Promotions, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management position. Thorough
knowledge of group business, meeting and convention market.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field or combination
of comprehensive education, training and experience.
Skills, Knowledge and /or Abilities Required: Must have great public speaking
skills, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively
with all levels of internal and external personnel. Outgoing, self reliant, enthusiastic
personality, strong presentation, written and communication skills; professional
appearance; organized and detail oriented; ability to motivate and support the
development of the sales staff; knowledge of reservations; group and individual
operations; public relations
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or testing required: Must be able to obtain
an Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License – Level 2
