Rising star preschool is actively seeking a qualified preschool director who will oversee the daily operations and administration of the preschool. The candidate will be experienced in the field of early childhood development and lead management of the school. The preschool director’s responsibilities include recruitment of staff, property maintenance, marketing and communication, financial management, and communication with role players.
To be successful as a preschool director, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as love for children. You should uphold the vision of the preschool with pride and ensure that the preschool meets the relevant standard set by the state. Ultimately, a top-notch Preschool Director will determine the needs of the preschool, protect the health and safety of children, work closely with the principal and report to the Board of Directors.
Preschool Director Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of the preschool.
- Create policies and develop curricula which conform to the state requirements.
- Ensure that the property is well-maintained.
- Manage financial transactions and prepare budgets.
- Schedule training of CPR and First Aid for all members of staff. Scheduled on-going training of teachers.
- Oversee the planning and preparation of meals for the children.
- Supervise preschool teachers and childcare workers.
- Hire and train new staff members.
- Provide professional development opportunities for staff.
- Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents.
- Develop educational programs and standards.
- Presenting department information to clients, leadership, and shareholders
- Manage calendar for school tours
- Weekly tracking FTE
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in Child care development education and credential, teaching or admin. credential w/ 12 units of ECE, 3 units supervised field exp. in ECE setting; or CTC approved training
2. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience as a preschool teacher preferred
3. Strong ability to create and develop positive and constructive relationships, partnerships, and community relations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Visual and auditory ability to respond in critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in the event of an emergency
5. Excellent leadership and managerial skills to appropriately manage personnel, programs and fiscal resources
6. Communicate effectively: written and oral
7. Excellent knowledge of curriculum, research on effective teaching practices, state and federal education law, uses of assessment data for school improvement, and staff development.
8. The following required prior to hiring MMR, TDAP, Covid and Flu. TB Clearance and Fingerprint Clearance through Live Scan, Current pediatric CPR and First aid Certification and Preventative health practices, required immunizations,
9. Mandated reporter and Pesticide training certificate, Must have 16 hours of health, safety and nutrition Preventative health.

Pay: $22.50/hour to $25/hour (Depending on experience)
Work schedule: Mondays to Frindays (6:30-3:30PM)
