WA Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager
$60,000-$90,000 (DOE)
Job Duties
Risk Finance is seeking a WA Workers’ Comp Claims Manager to join our team. This position requires skilled, prompt, and accurate claims resolution for retro participants, and individual clients.
Duties include:
Review L&I claims to ensure that all medical treatment, time loss compensation, vocational services, and permanent partial disability awards are appropriate and comply with industrial insurance law.
Contact appropriate parties to resolve claim issues, including the attending physician, any consulting doctors, employer, injured worker, vocational counselor, L&I claims manager and others.
Submit timely written protests and/or appeals to any decision or benefit paid by L&I that does not comply with industrial insurance law or the facts of the claim.
Assist the employer in developing a light-duty return-to-work program and making light-duty job offers.
Explain industrial insurance law and L&I requirements to employers.
Represent the employer in appeals before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals.
Experience and Skills Required
- Experience managing Workers’ Comp Claims within Labor and Industries (Apprenticeship graduation required)
- At least 5 years managing WA state workers’ comp claims preferred
- Use software: Windows, Office, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
- Write professional letters using appropriate spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.
- Use training in Washington state industrial insurance law and L&I policies to effectively and efficiently manage industrial insurance claims.
- Use verbal communication skills.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Prioritize many different tasks.
- Organize workload to meet deadlines.
- Provide a high level of customer service.

Schedule Options:
- Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm, or 9 am to 5 pm

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
