Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing claims efficiently while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of insurance verification processes and coding related to submitted claims.
Duties
- Review and process claims for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for claims.
- Set preliminary and ongoing case reserves to reflect probable ultimate exposure.
- Perform initial contact with claimants, plaintiffs, and municipal stakeholders.
- Evaluate claims for assignments to defense counsel.
- Monitor the progress of defense counsel activities.
- Evaluate claims for potential settlement and /or defense strategies.
- Provide updates for internal management and municipal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Automobile liability claims handling experience is a must.
- General Liability claims handling experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, as well as strong negotiation skills.
- Service-oriented and qualified applicants need only apply.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong basic computer skills needed, including Word, Windows, and Excel.
- Adaptability to basic RIMS system protocols is extremely desirable
- Louisiana Property Casualty Adjuster license needed.
