We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits team in Boston, MA. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day service, and overseeing the development and execution of each client’s benefits strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with self-funded plans and will serve as a subject matter expert across a range of offerings including medical, life, disability, and other employee benefits. The Senior Account Executive will work closely with both clients and carrier representatives, providing strategic guidance and plan analysis, while also leading internal team efforts by reviewing work, ensuring accuracy, and delegating tasks as needed. In addition to managing a personal book of business, this role supports revenue growth through client expansion and assists producers with prospecting and proposal development for new opportunities.
Your Impact:
- Subject matter expert on Health & Welfare Benefits, vendor/carrier products and services including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary
- Manage a book of primarily self-funded (medical, dental) large group business between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with reference-ready clients, prospects, and carriers
- Keep clients apprised of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues
- Proactively anticipate client needs and bring forward strategies to address their challenges
- Project manage book of business including planning, delegating, and meeting deliverable timing
- Understand fundamental underwriting concepts to communicate funding alternatives, impact to rates, and cost drivers
- Manage request for proposals and renewals - negotiate with carriers and make recommendations to client
- Ensure client is fully compliant with all regulations to which they are subject
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 12 years of health and welfare experience, with a track record of exceeding core practice competencies
- Proven experience managing complex self-funded client accounts
- Strong client-facing experience within the employee benefits industry
- Advanced technical knowledge of self-funded medical and dental plans, benefits administration, Health Care Reform, industry trends, and carrier products/services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Active Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License (required)
- GBA or CEBS certification a plus
