Job Description : Job Summary :
The Cloud Solutions Engineer is a multi-functional role supporting onboarding and ongoing operations of application teams within the cloud program. They establish and maintain a cloud community of practice to facilitate information sharing with application teams, support the onboarding process via hands-on technical support and guidance and ensure long-term success of all tenants within the cloud program via ongoing reviews of cloud operations for deployed applications including making recommendations on cost, performance and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities :
Demonstrate subject matter expertise with all commonly used AWS services including EC2, VPC, EKS / ECS, S3, RDS, Route53, EMR etc.
Operate cloud computing governance tooling like Turbot or CloudTamer / Kion.
Establish and maintain a cloud community of practice to enable information sharing across the cloud program.
Experience with Infrastructure and Platform architecture and operations.
Support onboarding application teams to the cloud program.
Conduct training and upskilling exercises with application teams across the program to ensure all teams are equipped to optimally utilize cloud services.
Coordinate with AWS Technical Account Management and Professional Services teams to conduct Well Architected Reviews (WARs) with application teams.
Design and maintain documentation and playbooks on common use cases for application teams.
Support cost estimation of cloud projects utilizing internal tools and AWS provided cost calculator as appropriate.
Promote adoption of standardized infrastructure as code patterns and architectural best practices across application teams.
Well versed with AWS and Azure services and resources.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-7 years of experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer
Certification in cloud such as AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Programming / Scripting experience in popular languages like Python / Java Script using the AWS SDKs like boto3 etc.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Packer etc.
Experience with industry standard multi account governance tools like Turbot, AWS Control Tower or Kion / CloudTamer.
Expertise in Linux and Windows System Administration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
