Job Title: Technical Sales Representative
Location: Dallas-Houston Territory (Local to the Area Required)
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 Commission
Work Arrangement: This is a field-based role with approximately 3–4 days per week of travel. When not visiting customers, you’ll work remotely from home.

Responsibilities:
Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in your assigned region. Engage with purchasing, R&D, QC/QA, and key decision-makers within each company to understand their needs and place orders.
Sales Strategy & Consultative Selling: Identify the specific chemical products each customer needs and use your consultative sales skills to recommend appropriate products that align with their business needs. Ensure customers are aware of the full range of products and services.
Customer Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely solutions.
Performance Tracking: Continuously monitor customer performance, order history, and satisfaction to identify growth opportunities and ensure retention.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and developments in the chemical industry to maintain a competitive edge.
Sales Meetings & Trade Shows: Attend all required sales meetings and industry trade shows as directed by management to maintain visibility and expand your network.
Market Intelligence: Gather and report competitive intelligence on pricing, promotions, and market conditions.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular call reports, customer activity updates, monthly itineraries, technical service requests, and weekly expense reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage budgeting and forecasting for products within your region. Collaborate with purchasing to ensure stock levels are optimized to meet customer demand.
Expense Management: Oversee all expenses within your region to maximize profitability and maintain efficient operations.
Market Surveying: Continuously survey the market to identify potential obstacles and new sales opportunities, ensuring a proactive approach to growth.
Collaboration with International Affiliates: Work with international affiliates and external partners to support both the company and customers' needs.
Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional, business-like image of the company through your interactions and conduct.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical sales, ideally within the personal care or cosmetic industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field preferred, but not required
- Solid knowledge of chemical ingredients and their applications in personal care and cosmetic formulations
- Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and negotiate with technical and purchasing teams
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a remote, travel-heavy schedule
- Willing and able to travel extensively by car and air throughout the Dallas–Houston territory (approximately 75%)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and follow-ups
- Must reside in the Dallas–Houston area (required)
- Comfortable lifting and carrying product samples or presentation materials (up to 25 lbs)
- Willingness to attend customer site visits, trade shows, and industry events as needed
