What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at Rita's Italian Ice?
As a manager, you'll play a vital role in achieving our overall season goal by fostering a positive team environment and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position requires excellent leadership and communication skills in order to properly manage the store and employees.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to be on your feet for 8 hour shifts, lift 50lbs, stoop, kneel and climb a ladder
- Must have experience managing a team of individuals
- Time Management and organizational skills are required
- You must be able to work independently and take initiative while managing your schedule efficiently and effectively with a sense of urgency
- Manager must have at least two years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers, team and owners
- Ability to manage a fast paced, high volume, clean, customer focused restaurant
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices
- Computer/Electronic skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google apps, Email, Internet, Social Media, Point of Sale system and scheduling app
- Be able and willing to work a flexible schedule that can include daytime hours but also evening and weekends. This is a full time position working 30-40 hours per week during our open season. We are closed for Easter but expected to work on other summer holidays such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day etc.
- You must represent the Rita’s brand in the public, at events and everywhere you go in a positive and fun manner
- Manager must have superior interpersonal skills, be outgoing and provide outstanding customer service to every guest.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Have a positive attitude, encouraging team player performance amongst staff
- Be reliable, on time and ready to tackle the day with enthusiasm and leadership mentality
- Become a certified Ice Maker through online and in person training (Follow recipe cards while exhibiting basic food handling procedures, multitask)
- Oversee operations of entire store
- Scheduling - schedule and properly staff store weekly on Homebase
- Supervision - manage Treat Team Members & Team Leaders
- Inventory - complete inventory assessments on weekly or more often basis
- Ordering - place orders weekly, checking in upon delivery arrival, putting away and processing credit request
- Training- train all new staff upon hiring, ensure they are adequately trained throughout the season
- Promotions - implement brand standard promotions and ensure staff are educated and prepared
- Culture - create a positive culture while mentoring relationships amongst staff
- Ice Production - ensure ample supply of ice is prepared for the day
- Third Party Delivery - update flavors/promotions online
- Cash Management- open and close drawers daily
- Equipment Maintenance - ensure custard and batch machines are cleaned regularly, notify owner of additional maintenance needed
- Mobile/Catering Events - operate and facilitate mobile and or catering events outside of the store.
