Position Overview:
The Family Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to children and adolescents in a residential treatment setting. Responsibilities will include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric patients with a range of medical and behavioral health conditions. This role requires a highly skilled professional with experience in pediatric care and an ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to pediatric patients in a residential juvenile treatment center, including medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Develop individualized healthcare plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage chronic conditions.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, staff, and families on health issues, medications, and treatment options.
- Support the emotional and behavioral needs of patients, working alongside therapists, counselors, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and other team activities.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a pediatric focus in Arkansas.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification required.
- At least 2 years of pediatric care experience, preferably in a residential or juvenile treatment setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations, including children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed care and behavioral health management.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient caseload.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
Additional Information:
- This is a contract position, with a flexible start and end date, and may require some evening or weekend availability.
