What You’ll Do
As the site Licensed Practice Nurse, you will be primarily responsible for the health care of the students. In this role, you will:
- Order and administer medication per providers orders
- Transcribe providers orders in the medical record to the medication administration records
- Accurate and prompt documentation in the health record
- Obtain vital signs and BMI, perform basic vision exam, administer IM injections
- Collect specimens (i.e., blood, saliva) and prepare for lab courier
- Assist chronic care clinic (i.e., diabetes, asthma, obesity)
- Manage daily sick-call and adhere to the nursing protocols
- Educate students about their health
- Maintain clean and tidy workspace
- Collaborate with peers to meet the needs of the department and campus
- Monitor medical supply inventory and report when needs ordering
- Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent and possess a current Licensed Practical Nursing Credential from the state in which employed.
- Have a minimum of two years of previous medical services administration, including demonstrated experience in operating and securing comprehensive health services programs.
- Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
