Occupational Therapist

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Our unique location on a 270-acre farm provides a nurturing treatment setting with a variety of therapy resources. Pay: $50 per hour.

What you will do: As an Occupational Therapist at Childhelp you will be responsible for developing, organizing and facilitating the occupational therapy program to facilitate rehabilitation according to the child’s IEP, DOE Regulations or under the direction of the Director of Education or the Clinical Director. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the child’s participation and selecting tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; facilitate the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, dimmish or correct pathology, and promote and maintain good health.

To be considered you should: Be at least 21 years of age ~ A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university that has been approved through the American Occupational Therapy Association ~ Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing occupation therapy services ~ Must be licensed by the state of Virginia as an OT and AOTCB certified ~ Must possess professional liability insurance ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule: 29 hours a week, Monday through Friday
