JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Coordinator – Ritenour Center for Educational Excellence
Assists with implementing the educational and administrative programs within the parameters established and approved by the Board of Education. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements instructional program at the Julie Hahn Center for International and Gifted Learners and the Janine Milam-Haynes Early Childhood Annex.
REPORTS TO: School for Early Childhood Education Principal
EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
- Supervision of the Center’s instructional programs and Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and implementation of district policy.
- Supervising, observing and evaluating the performance of the building staff.
- Planning, supervising and evaluating the instructional program.
- Preparation of teacher schedules, student schedules, extracurricular activities, etc.
- Supervises student discipline/conduct.
- Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with parents, counselors, social workers and other resources to address attendance concerns.
- Coordinates school operational policies and procedures and in developing the building budget.
- Assists and supervises substitute staff.
- Prepares reports as needed to set goals and monitor progress of the Center’s instructional programs.
- Ensures coordination of early childhood programs in collaboration with the Principal of School for Early Childhood Education.
- Ensures coordination of transition planning for newcomer students with other district schools and programs.
- Ensures coordination of elementary gifted services.
- Coordinates program implementation with teacher leaders and support staff members
- Collaborates with parents, faculty, and student groups in advancing educational objectives and related activities.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the school building, grounds equipment and materials.
- Coordinates and ensures safety inspections, safety drill practice activities and emergency procedures.
- Coordinates planning, implementing, and monitoring staff development and growth activities.
- Oversees volunteer and extracurricular activities.
- Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
- Ensures communicates with parents regarding instructional program of the Center as well as individual progress of students.
- Pursues professional growth and development through staff development opportunities, postgraduate education, membership and participation in professional organizations and attendance at regional, and state meetings.

- Understanding and use of language communication tolls for multilingual students and families
- Regular attendance is required to provide support to students and staff.
- Requires travel to work sites within a building.
- Meets with administration and staff outside of the instructional day.
- Meets with students and parents outside the instructional day.
- Reviews and interprets assessment results and reports to obtain information necessary for decision making, planning, and management.
- Prepares and maintains written reports.
- Provides written procedures for plan preparation and implementation.
- Develops information for written reports and correspondence to officials inside and outside the district.
- Communication with teachers regarding instructional programs.
- Communicates student assignments and behavioral concerns in writing to others.
- Discusses individual student circumstances with teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Provides oversight and evaluative supervision of assigned staff.
- Conducts individual and group meetings.
- Communicates with employees, parents, outside agencies, etc. via telephone, email, in person and video conferencing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Vocational Preparation: (Experience)
Minimum 3 years successful teaching experience
3 years successful building administration experience at the middle school level preferred
Education Preparation: (Formal and Informal)
Master’s Degree in Education Administration
Missouri teaching and administrative certification
