POSITION: Lead Custodian – Ritenour High School
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Over 1 year up to and including 2 years experience. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Position requires interaction with all levels of staff. Exceptional knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and floor cleaning machinery.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Lead Custodian
Maintains the assigned physical facility in an operating condition that allows for the full educational program to function.
REPORTS TO: Custodial Supervisor
EXAMPLE(S) of WORK PERFORMED:
- Performs all work elements of the Custodian position, plus:
- Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of the custodial staff.
- Provides hands on instruction to all assigned custodians in proper cleaning methods and procedures.
- Monitors and controls daily supply usage.
- Performs weekly equipment checks to maintain equipment in good working order.
- Verifies that assigned custodians wear proper uniform.
- Supervises custodial coverage for public functions.
- Checks time cards and reports daily attendance.
- Attends head custodian meetings and communicates building needs to the Manager of Custodial Services.
- Clean areas not cleaned by subordinates.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs all essential functions of custodian plus prepares written reports for facility and building administrative use.
