POSITION: Long-term Substitute Teachers at Marvin Elementary School

Qualifications:

• Must have a current Substitute Teacher Certificate or hold a Missouri teaching certificate
• • To obtain your substitute teaching certificate, please apply online at DESE.mo.gov. The individual will need a minimum of 60 hours of college credit or completed the online 20-hour training to qualify for a substitute teacher's certificate hold a Missouri teaching certificate.
• Have the ability to use computer software to open browsers, review emails, and download documents.
• Have some experience teaching younger students or Kindergarten-aged children

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Long-Term Substitute Teacher

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Department and Principal at Ritenour High School

EXAMPLE(S) of WORK PERFORMED:

• Responsible for covering for a Kindergarten Teacher
• May need to attend parent-teacher conferences and professional development days
• Perform classroom teaching responsibilities in compliance with Ritenour School District policies, school rules, and lesson plans
• Foster a positive, learning environment
• Instruct students based on teacher's lesson plans, subject-or grade-specific curriculum, and/or student's abilities and interest
• Able to work collaboratively in multi-section courses
• Effectively supervise and engage a class of students
• Must ensure the safety of the students during the school day
• Organize and use a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of students
• Respect the guidelines set forth by the teacher on behavior processes, and maintain fair and just order in the classroom.
• Has the ability to operate specialized equipment such as computers, copiers, DVD’s etc.
• Possess basic knowledge with using electronic learning platforms, like Google Classroom
• Performs other related work as assigned

• Requires travel to work sites within a building. (Mobility)
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
