QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent (years of post-secondary education may substitute for one year of clerical experience). One year of experience. Preferred typing at 45 wpm (words per minute). Preferred knowledge of basic accounting principles & Google Suite.

JOB TITLE : Adult Education & Literacy Office Clerk- B
JOB DESCRIPTION : Job includes various clerical and secretarial duties. Performing these duties requires initiative, good judgment and ability to follow directions and make decisions within established policies. Duties require the discreet and tactful handling of sensitive and confidential material. Extensive interaction with diverse customers in person and by phone must be handled effectively and efficiently.

EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED :
Enter student instructional hours and contact students for enrollmentEnroll the online administer locator test and the reading pre-test for all new studentsUpdate class rosters and share with the AEL coordinatorSend students invites for Thursday sessions with AEL Office ClerkUpload and check accuracy of all data uploaded into system on WednesdaysCreate paper folders for each student and save sign-in sheets.Check supplies and communicate to coordinator all needed classroom or testing supplies place orders on WednesdayEnter all ESL data on ThursdayClose and secure AEL Center when necessaryManage LACES data and discuss anomalies with the AEL coordinatorKeep storage areas clean and neatManage the AEL soda machine, keeping it full at all timesAssist with the AEL graduation ceremony when necessaryAssist Coordinator with all reporting and writingCreate payroll timesheets for all employees yearlyAssist Coordinator with data close-out in JulyMaintain technology and supplies inventory listsReport issues with student testing anomalies, classroom retention changes and concerns to the coordinatorHelp prepare for meetings and events at the AEL center when requestedHelp students with all supportive services (letters, referrals, information, etc.) and all other students as requested / credential spreadsheets, and sign-in sheetsShare with the coordinator / Administer MOLearns pre-tests and post-testsProcess MOLearns testing information the same day, provide relevant information to instructors when necessary to keep classroom data to the level expected, and work with instructors to maximize classroom dataAll staff are expected to share responsibility with the teachers for the data of the classes you support / answer phones and return callsEncourage absent students to post-test, return materials, and to attend classes when appropriateAssist coordinator with miscellaneous tasks as requestedESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (
