Construction Laborer

Ritter Dirt and Asphalt is looking to hire a construction laborer who will prep equipment, keep tools clean and organized, assist on various jobsites, order supplies and more.

If hired, you will help Ritter’s crew provide services to residential property owners, land developers and general contractors throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties.

Job functions:

· Load trucks and gather tools for the day.

· Transport and set up equipment.

· Assist equipment operators as needed.

· Rake, sweep and shovel material.

· Use picks, shovels and pneumatic tampers to dig ditches/trenches, backfill and compact.

· Clean and prepare construction sites.

· Wash and clean trucks and equipment.

· Organize tools and equipment.

· Run errands, order and pick up supplies.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills and traits:

· Physical stamina and strength.

· Follow instructions, including all safety procedures and protocols.

· Perform detail orientated work.

· Dependable and on-time.

· Excellent communication, observation and listening skills.

· Detail orientated.

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Clean driving record and valid Washington State driver’s license.

· Able to pass a drug test.

· Must have reliable transportation and a cellphone.

· Physically fit and able to perform manual labor.

· Able to pick up and move at least 50 pounds.

· Able to work outside in all weather conditions.

· Able to stand for extended periods of time.

Work schedule:

· Full-time, 30 per week.

· Shifts typically between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and overtime.

Compensation and work perks:

· $25 per hour, depending on experience.

· Home every night with most weekends off.

· Seven paid holidays per year.
