Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Operations Supervisor to oversee the operations of our lumber barn, yard, warehouse, and shipping/receiving teams at Ritter Lumber. The ideal candidate will have a background in operations, logistics, and team leadership. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all areas under your supervision, maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations in the lumber barn, yard, warehouse, and shipping/receiving departments, ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently and safely.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize productivity and workflow.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, and storing of lumber and building materials, to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries and dispatches, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of orders to customers.
- Supervise and train staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety regulations.
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to orders and deliveries.
- Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the lumber and building materials industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and logistics software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
