New Business Development Associate Job Description
Ritz Safety is dedicated to providing convenient and cost-effective safety products and solutions to all people and industries worldwide. With seventeen nationwide locations, we are looking to add a New Business Development Associate to our Indianapolis, IN location. The role of the New Business Development Associate is to prospect, target, develop, qualify and close new business opportunities with new customers in the construction, industrial and manufacturing marketplace. The role requires prospecting and qualifying expertise to develop new customers for Ritz Safety’s products, equipment and services in targeted markets.
Top performers will exhibit proven experience in new business development, results-oriented sales role. Successful team members will present strong communication and verbal telephone presentation skills to support customer accounts, qualify new business opportunities and up-sell new products and services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (80-90% of role focus):
· Primary effort is account management to prospect, qualify, develop and close new business opportunities.
· Represents the company in a field/territory capacity to prospect, qualify and influence new customers or new business opportunities where the opportunity to develop safety products is qualified.
· Create communication/accountability with decision making authorities to promote and develop Ritz Safety products/sales opportunities for sales.
· Collaborates with field service, internal departments and sales force to prospect, develop and qualify new sales to be developed and retained by the New Business Development Associate.
· Achieves defined sales goals and quota via an established sales process and plan.
· Proposes pricing and credit terms, prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (10-20% of role focus):
· Maintains and refines database of customers, contacts, and prospective customers.
· Tracks customer sales activities for account retention and development.
· Communicates effectively with manager any challenges, successes and needs.
· Provides ideas, recommendations and support regarding customer retention and new business development.
· Stays up-to-date on sales skills, professional knowledge and self-training to maximize professional growth and advancement.
· Stays up-to-date on Ritz Safety’s capabilities, products, services and/or changes to support customer needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma/GED – Applicable Associates Degree preferred.
· 2-3 years of experience in business development or prospecting sales role.
· Strong, proven demonstrable understanding of the sales process.
· Strong skills in prospecting, hunting, qualifying and developing new business.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in use of computers and software (Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, CRM Software, etc.)
