JOB SUMMARY - Performs semi-skilled operating tasks related to the transfer of solid waste; operates lightweight off-road equipment; does related work as required. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Solid Waste Manager or as delegated.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operates the TS-2000 transfer station;
- Directs trucks to discharge locations; oversees unloading;
- Makes material inspections and maintains inspection logs;
- Pulls, sorts and loads recyclable materials;
- Operates convenience center and HHW unit;
- Works professionally and effectively with the public, co-workers, and supervisors;
- Ability to work as a team member;
- Performs custodial services in buildings and grounds keeping tasks;
- Operates mower, weed eater, chain saw, tractor, Bobcats, grinders, and mixers;
- Picks up trash on site and along Route 637
- Assists in maintenance tasks
- Periodically operates small rolling stock equipment as needed
- Performs valid related tasks as required.
